Orignally I thought about having a Hub styled area with different challenge rooms for the player to enter and retrieve keys to enter a final room.
When I sketched this out I thought that use physical corridoors to link the rooms would create a space issue where rooms may come into conflict if made incorrectly.
As mentioned before I feel that if I use a sort of portal system where the player gets transported as they enter the door to the area where they collect the key. This would elimate any space issues and also open up to a change of environment through each door, due to teleporting the player to different locations I could set up a range of different envoronments for the keys to be placed.

Some basic ideas I had for layouts of rooms in the building
After working in UDK I used the BSP brushes to quickly create a simple layout of the map
I will try to stay as faithful as possible to this layout during creation.
